Hardox 500 equivalent grades

HARDOX 500 steel is a wear-resistant steel grade that is used in many engineering and construction applications. HARDOX 500 steel is a Swedish manufactured grade, developed by SSAB, and is one of the world’s most widely used types of wear-resistant steel. HARDOX 500 steel offers exceptional strength, wear resistance, and formability, as well as excellent weldability and bendability.

Due to its exceptional properties, HARDOX 500 steel can be found in several industries, such as mining and quarrying, mining and forestry, construction, and transportation. The two main uses of HARDOX 500 steel are for parts and components exposed to wear and high impact conditions, as well as for reinforcing existing structures.

When looking for HARDOX 500 equivalent grades, it’s important to understand that there are many options that may be suitable for your application. HARDOX 500 is not the only wear-resistant grade available, and other grades may also be suitable depending on your specific application.

For instance, one of the most popular HARDOX 500 equivalents is Weldox 700. This grade is also a Swedish manufactured grade, developed by SSAB, and is a popular and widely used wear-resistant steel grade. Weldox 700 offers a slightly higher yield and tensile strength compared to HARDOX 500, making it an excellent choice for parts and components that need more strength.

Another popular equivalent HARDOX 500 equivalent grade is Domex 500. This is also a Swedish manufactured grade, developed by SSAB and is another popular and widely used wear-resistant steel grade. Domex 500 also offers a slightly higher yield and tensile strength than HARDOX 500, and is especially well-suited for parts and components that need more strength than HARDOX 500 can offer.

One of the best-known and widely used HARDOX 500 equivalents is Abrazo 400. Abrazo 400 is a Swedish manufactured grade developed by SSAB and offers an excellent combination of strength, formability, and wear resistance. Abrazo 400 is an excellent choice for parts and components that need a combination of strength and wear resistance. Another excellent choice for wear-resistant steel is Alloy 400, which is an alloy grade of stainless steel developed by National Specialty Alloys, Inc.

It’s important to note that while HARDOX 500 is a fantastic wear-resistant steel grade, you may still require a different grade of steel depending on your specific application. With that in mind, it’s always a good idea to consult with your materials expert or supplier to determine the right HARDOX 500 equivalent grade for your specific application.
