In addition, proper preheating before cutting, and keeping the workpiece warm and slowly cooling after cutting, to a certain extent. Residual stress at the cut edge can also be reduced. When the steel plate is thermally cut or processed, the steel plate will soften due to heat. The resistance to softening of the steel plate depends on the chemical composition, microstructure and processing method of the steel. The smaller the cutting workpiece, the heat will accumulate in the workpiece and lead to the risk of softening. The bigger. The best way to avoid the risk of softening is to use cold cutting and cold working. If thermal cutting is necessary, laser cutting or plasma cutting is preferred. Underwater plasma cutting can greatly reduce the heat-affected zone, prevent the hardness of the workpiece from decreasing, reduce the deformation of cutting parts, reduce noise, and be smoke-free.
Wear-resistant steel can be sheared, but the greater the tensile strength, the greater the shear force required. We do not recommend shearing NM400 and above wear-resistant steel plates. When cutting, choose a hard, sharp blade with a slightly rounded edge. During the shearing process, the blade gap also changes with the strength of the steel plate. The greater the strength, the larger the blade gap. Unreasonable blade gaps will affect the quality of the cut surface. In actual operation, the specific situation will depend on the production equipment.
