Structural steel angles (along with other types of steel sections like A36 channels, I-beams, bulb flats and NM400 material) are widely used in construction as a rigid reinforcing material for concrete monolithic elements of high-rise framed buildings, as well as for critical and wide-span support elements in industrial and civil applications. Angle steel bars are also used for door and window framing, arches and other architectural elements. Grades NM400 material, Q345 (16Mn) and Q390 steel have good comprehensive mechanical properties, good welding performance, cold and hot workability and corrosion resistance. For high carbon steel and high alloy steel, normalizing can eliminate the network carbide produced by forging and improve the homogeneity of the preparation heat treatment structure.

In steel standard JIS G3106, SM570 steel owned the highest yield strength above 460 Mpa, and the tensile strength within 570-720 Mpa. For SM570 steel, the C element content is 0.18%, the Si element content is 0.55% max, the Mn element content is 1.60% max, the P element content is 0.035% max, the S element content is 0.035% max.
