If the chromium content in NM500 grade material alloy steel reaches about 12%, dense chromium oxides will be formed on the surface of the steel, which will greatly improve the corrosion resistance of steel in oxidizing media. Chromium, aluminum, silicon and other elements can improve the oxidation resistance of steel and the corrosion resistance of high-temperature gas, but excessive aluminum and silicon will deteriorate the thermoplasticity of steel.

S355J2G3 is low alloy high strength structural steel, and it is roughly equivalent to GB Q345D.S355J2G3 is a European standard steel with composition of C ≤ 0.20, Si ≤ 0.55, Mn ≤ 1.60, P ≤ 0.035, S ≤ 0.035. The meaning of J2G3 indicates that the delivery state of S355J2G3 steel is normalized, the impact energy at - 20 ℃ is 27J. G3 and G4 indicate the deoxidization mode. NM500 grade material, S355J2G3 steel is semi killed steel, S355J2G4 steel is fully killed steel.
