Turkey produced 8.97 million metric tons of crude steel in the first quarter, with a 9.6 percent increase from the same month of last year. Iran's crude NM450 plate material steel production in March amounted to 6.75 million mt. up by 13.2 percent year on year. The CIS registered a NM450 plate material crude steel output of 25.15 million mt. falling by 0.6 on year-on-year basis, with Russia producing 17.9 million mt, down by one percent, and Ukraine producing 5.32 million mt, falling by 3.4 percent, both on year-on-year basis.
