SM490B plate is a kind of structural steel produced according to Japanese Standard JIS G3106. Min. tensile strength of SM490B plate is 490MPa. SM490B plate is mainly used in buildings, bridges, ships, rail vehicles, oil tanks, containers and other buildings requiring high-level weldability. The delivery state is hot rolling for SM490B plate, HARDOX 400 thickness range with thickness less than 80mm; and the delivery state is normalizing for SM490B steel plate with thickness more than 80mm.

Corrosion resistant steel plate, as a new generation of advanced steel material, has 2-5 times of atmospheric corrosion resistance as ordinary carbon steel such as HARDOX 400 thickness range, and the longer the service time, the more prominent the corrosion resistance. Due to its characteristics of rust resistance, coating free, thinning and consumption reduction, labor saving and energy saving, corrosion resistant steel plate can be applied to steel structures exposed to the atmosphere for a long time, such as buildings, vehicles, bridges, towers, etc., and can also be used to manufacture structural parts such as containers, railway vehicles, oil derricks, seaport buildings, oil production platforms, etc.

In order to easily and economically perform hot or cold processing to make various parts of engineering structures, the low alloy high strength steel must have appropriate forming properties. Like HARDOX 400 thickness range, carbon structural steel, low alloy high strength steel can generally be processed in such way, as well as cutting, punching, and machining. Although the yield point of low alloy high strength steel is high, even if the forming operation is deformed quite severely, cold bending presses, drawing machines, presses and other equipment used for carbon structural steel forming can also be used for low alloy high strength steel, but some equipment needs to be modified.

The proportion of main elements in Q345 steel is basically the same as that in 16Mn steel, the difference is that V, Ti, Nb microalloy elements are added. A small amount of V, Ti, Nb alloy elements can refine the grains, greatly improve the toughness of the steel, and greatly improve the comprehensive mechanical properties of the steel. Because of this, the thickness of HARDOX 400 thickness range, Q345 steel plate can be made larger. Therefore, the comprehensive mechanical properties of Q345 steel should be better than that of 16Mn steel, especially its low temperature properties. The allowable stress of Q345 steel is slightly higher than that of 16Mn steel.

Both parties shall confirm the HARDOX 400 thickness range material object and the quality of the products, confirm the reasons for the defects and the quality of the products, and sign the quality inspection agreement. Major quality objections shall be reported to relevant leaders in a timely manner, and shall be discussed and solved with the HARDOX 400 thickness range steel plant.
