At present, China's wear-resistant steel plate grades are divided into six levels, namely NM300, NM360, NM400, NM450, NM500, NM550 and NM600. The wear-resistant steel NM500 steel equivalent grade adopts the combination of Chinese NM of wear resistance meaning and Brinell hardness (HB) value. For example: NM500, NM is the first universal parent of Chinese "wear resistance", "500" is Brinell hardness value. NM series wear-resistant steel has good wear resistance, which greatly reduces the loss and use cost.

Special automatic welding technology enables the chromium content of wear-resistant layer to be controlled at more than 28%, and the NM500 steel equivalent hardness is between 58-62, which fully ensures that our wear-resistant layer has continuous good and balanced wear resistance. The wear test in metallurgy, cement and other industries shows that the wear resistance of the wear-resistant layer of the surfacing composite NM500 steel equivalent wear-resistant steel plate is more than 30 times that of the 16Mn plate with the same thickness.

The main applications of normalizing are as follows:① For low carbon steel, NM500 steel equivalent. The hardness of low carbon steel after normalizing is slightly higher than that after annealing, and the toughness is also better, so normalizing can be used as the pretreatment of cutting.② For medium carbon steel, normalizing can be used as the final heat treatment instead of quenching and tempering treatment, or as the preparation treatment before surface quenching by induction heating.③ Normalizing can be used in tool steel, bearing steel, carburizing steel and so on, which can eliminate or inhibit the formation of network carbide, thus obtaining the good microstructure needed for spheroidizing annealing.④ Normalizing can refine the cast structure and improve the machinability of steel castings.

NM500 steel equivalent, API 5L X52 steel with the thickness range is 1.2-40mm, the width range is 1220-4200mm, and the length range is 5000-18000mm. API 5L X52 steel’s mechanical properties is the yield strength 300MPa, and the tensile strength 460MPa. To be specified in details: Maximum content for C≤0.28%, Mn≤1.4%, P≤0.030%, S is 0.030%, V+Nb+Ti≤0.15%, Copper maximum is 0.50%, nickel maximum 0.50%, chromium 0.50%, Molybdenum 0.15%.
