Q420B material is a low-alloy high-strength structural steel. NM450 steel grade, Q420 is not high-strength steel, it is still low-carbon steel. Its tensile strength has been improved a bit. A36 is American Standard ASTM material, SS400 is Japanese Standard JIS g3101 steel material for general structure, Q235 is Chinese standard GB700 material. The limitation of the content of the Mn element differs depending on the thickness of the A36 steel plate, and the A36 steel plate of 20 mm or less does not contain Mn. The NM450 steel grade, Q235 steel plate has requirements for the contents of C, Si, Mn, S, P and other elements. But SS400 steel plate only requires S and P to be less than 0.050, and no other element requirements.
