In terms of its Indian equivalent, NM 500 can be compared to the Indian material IS 4468. This is a user-friendly structural steel, renowned for its high tensile strength and long-term durability. Much like NM 500, it exhibits a high resistance to corrosion and abrasion and is considered suitable for a wide variety of applications and industries.
Though NM 500 and IS 4468 may not have the same elasticity and flexibility as spring steel, the combination of the two provide excellent strength and wear resistance, without the high price tag. This makes NM 500 and IS 4468 ideal for a variety of projects, on both a large and small scale.
