Hardox 500 equivalent equivalent ASME material

The wear resistance and mechanical strength of HARDOX 500 make it an ideal candidate for many applications. It has a tensile strength up to 1370 MPa (200,000 psi) and yield strength up to 1150 MPa (167,000 psi). It is also hard enough to resist abrasion and hard impacts of up to 600 Brinell (HB). Additionally, it's a versatile material that can be used to fabricate different shapes, welded connections and functional parts.
The equivalent ASME material to HARDOX 500 is SA537 Class 2. It has a similar performance profile with lower yield and tensile strengths of 510 MPa (74,000 psi) and 690 MPa (100,000 psi) respectively. In terms of toughness, it is more resilient than HARDOX 500, but its wear resistance is slightly inferior.
Altogether, HARDOX 500 and SA537 Class 2 are both effective solutions for high wear applications. HARDOX 500 has the advantage of being stronger and more resistant to abrasion, while SA537 Class 2 is more resistant to impact and is more suitable for less demanding applications.
