HARDO X400 properties equivalent steel material in Indian standard
Steel is an important material that is widely used in several engineering applications across the construction industry. Hardox X400 is a special type of wear-resistant steel that exhibits superior properties in several applications. Augmenting the performance of various engineering components, Hardox X400 exhibits excellent design flexibility due to its superior wear resistance. This wear-resistant steel grade obtained SSAB's "Hardox wear plate" award and has been in wide demand due to its excellent properties. Across several industries, Hardox X400 is used in variety of applications.
In India, when it comes to evaluating the design flexibility, specified yield strength and tensile strength of Hardox X400, the following equivalent material in Indian standard is commonly used.
Hardox X400 is equivalent to the Indian equivalent material IS 2062 E250C. This material is a mild-steel formed into flats, rounds and squares that are typically used for structural and mechancial applications. It is composed of 0.25 share of carbon, a manganese content of 1.5 percent, phosphorus of 0.04 percent and 0.5 percent sulphur. Apart from this, this material also contains a tensile strength of 410-490 Mpa followed by a minimum yield strength of 250 Mpa (for thickness between 16-40 mm).
Due to the higher mechanical and chemical resistance, Hardox X400 is an ideal material that may be used in construction and manufacturing of several engineering components like water silos, dump trucks and trailers, motors etc. across various industries. Hardox X400 is an ideal choice for heavy-duty applications due to its excellent properties. The IS 2062 e250C is an equivalent material that is used to assess the yield strength and tensile strength of Hardox X400 in a better way in Indian standard.
