The mechanical properties of 20MnV steel are as follows: tensile strength 785 MPa, yield strength 590 MPa, elongation after fracture 10%, reduction of area 40%, impact absorption energy 55 J. NM400 weathering steel, 20MnV steel has good properties, good strength, toughness and plasticity, good hardenability and machinability. After carburizing, 20MnV steel can be directly quenched without secondary quenching to improve the core structure. The weldability of 20MnV steel is good, but there is temper brittleness at 300-360 ℃ during heat treatment.

TMCP process is an indispensable technology for our production of low alloy high strength wide and NM400 weathering steel thick steel plates. TMCP process can produce steel with high strength and toughness without adding too many alloy elements and complex subsequent heat treatment. There are a lot of ASTM standards for pressure vessel steel plates. Such as ASTM A204, A285, A302, A387, A515, A516, A517, A537, A612, A841, etc. Those ASTM steel plates have different thickness ranges. NM400 weathering steel, ASTM A204 plates shall not thicker than 150mm. ASTM A285 plates shall not thicker than 50mm. ASTM A515 plates shall not thicker than 200mm. ASTM A517 plates and A537 plates shall not thicker than 150mm. ASTM A612 plates shall not thicker than 25mm. ASTM A841 plates shall not thicker than 100mm.
